Aston Villa recorded their second win of the campaign with a resounding 5-1 thrashing over Norwich City last Saturday.

Dean Smith’s men were in emphatic form at Carrow Road, with goals from Wesley (2), Jack Grealish, Conor Hourihane and Douglas Luiz ensuring the spoils were handed to the visitors in East Anglia, which sees the West Midlanders climb out of the relegation zone and into 15th place heading into this weekend’s international break.
The Villans host Brighton next Saturday in a tricky fixture at Villa Park, considering the Seagulls head into the game on the back of an impressive 3-0 win over Tottenham last weekend.
Tyrone Mings and Björn Engels have so far looked fairly solid for Villa as a centre-back pairing this season (in the eyes of the club’s official website at least), but it was another defender who caught the eye whilst making his Premier League debut for the club against Norwich.
The 21-year-old was introduced as a second-half substitute against the Canaries, coming off the bench for Engels in the 75th minute, and looked assured next to Mings, with Birmingham Live scoring him a 7/10 in their match ratings.
Here’s what Villa fans made of Konsa’s league debut on Twitter:
Mings and Engles (Mingles) have been solid. But, having Konsa as back up is awesome.
