A lot of Aston Villa fans are discussing Scott Hogan’s prospects at the club. The player is currently on loan at Championship side and big rivals Birmingham, recently winning the Sky Bet EFL Championship Player of the Month award.
The centre-forward started the season at Stoke City but only managed two goals in 13 games and, in January Villa recalled him and sent him to their bitter rivals, a move that has been great for him. (Transfermarkt) Indeed, he boasts a great goalscoring record at the Blues where he has played eight games and scored seven times.
Aston Villa are currently in the Premier League, battling for survival, but if they do get relegated, Hogan could be a useful player that can help them get back to the top flight. After all, his goals for Birmingham bar one have all gained points for the side and has helped them move nine points clear of the relegation zone. (Transfermarkt)
He only scored ten goals during his 61 games at Villa, and his resurrection at the Blues might see him try to secure a permanent move to Villa’s bitter rivals in the summer. His contract at his parent club runs out this summer so it will be interesting to see if they attempt to give him another contract or let him go on a free transfer.
Here are what fans said about the player:
The Championship player of the month…Does he have a future at Villa? #avfc pic.twitter.com/2ICc0N3KdE

Even if Villa go down I would doubt it very much particularly if Smith stays on

I still kinda hope so. He’s a quality player. Different player type than most other forwards these days. If Deano doesn’t stay, he might get a chance.

No. Doing well in a mid table championship side for a month doesn’t automatically make him a good player.

Doubt it. He has had a frustrating few years at Villa who haven’t played to his strengths. After a wasted couple of years he’ll likely want to close that chapter of his career.

If he’s good enough for Blues he’s obviously nowhere near good enough for Villa

If Villa would play players in their correct positions they would play better. Scott is being played in his natural position and is scoring
