Many Aston Villa fans are reacting to the news that the club are trying to tie down two key players at the club as they plan to hand out contract extensions.
According to @mjmarr_star and tweeted out by @villareport, Villa will attempt to tie down the future of more players with Douglas Luiz and Ezri Konsa the next in line for new contracts.
This would be great news for the club as the two are vital players and have been crucial to the club sitting eleventh as things currently stand. Both have played in all ten games in the Premier League, with centre-back Konsa even picking up a couple of goals this campaign (Transfermarkt).
The fact that they are trying to keep hold of players like Luiz shows a big statement of intent from the club. The Brazilian has a buy-back clause in his contract, meaning his former club Manchester City will have one eye on his situation. However, their buy-back clause only runs until the end of this season so if he would sign a new deal it would mean he wants to stay at Villa long-term.
