Aston Villa supporters would have been watching the England friendly against Ireland with delight as captain Jack Grealish finally got the place he deserves for the Three Lions.
Gareth Southgate’s side came away with a very comfortable 3-0 victory. This will be a good morale booster before their big Nations League game vs Belgium.
Grealish shone for his country as he assisted Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho for his goal. He also picked up a 7.8 rating (Futmob) as he made two key passes and won four duels.
There has been a lot of hype around Grealish, and not just from Villa fans, with former Arsenal star Ian Wright praising his display last night as he hailed the midfielder’s ‘industrious‘ work rate, as well as his ability on the ball of course.
The 24 year-old is on great form for both his club and country this season. He now has five goals and seven assists in his eleven appearances for both club and country this campaign (Transfermarkt).
