Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to footage of 16-year-old Carney Chukwuemeka in action for the club’s academy.
Fans of the Claret and Blue side have had little to cheer about of late in the Premier League, seeing Dean Smith’s side struggle to find a way out of the relegation zone in the league standings.
With football at a standstill due to the recent pandemic, fans face a nervous wait to see the outcome of England’s top flight and whether or not Villa will be playing Premier League football next term.
With focus off the pitch at the moment, fans have been engaging with each other via social media, and a latest highlight reel of young academy talent Chukwuemeka has got Villa fans talking.
The 16-year-old midfielder has been playing consistently well for Villa’s U18 side this term, contributing with two goals and six assists.
Such form has seen the youngster’s name be given high praise, with Christian Purslow suggesting that he is the “best 16-year-old in England” at the moment. That has led to reported interest from the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.
Reacting to a tweet by @astonforza which showed footage of the youngster, Villa fans shared excitement at the potential of Chukwuemeka rising to the first team. One even suggested that the player’s movement reminded them of Tammy Abraham.

If he stays at Villa he will play. I think stability during the teenage years facilitates faster development each move brings with it dead time ie time to settle.
