Loads of Aston Villa fans have been reacting to their 2-0 defeat at Southampton on Saturday, with plenty pointing the finger at the performance of Frederic Guilbert.
The Villains fell to another defeat at St. Mary’s on Saturday, meaning Dean Smith’s side have now lost three Premier League matches on the bounce since their Carabao Cup semi-final success, hardly the type of form you want to take into a final against Manchester City next weekend.
The performance against the Saints was perhaps even more worrying than the result itself, as the visitors recorded an almost embarrassing four shots to Southampton’s 28, per Whoscored. Guilbert in particular was disappointing, as the 25 year-old lost possession more than anyone else on the pitch.
Per Sofascore, the Frenchman lost the ball 24 times, one more than Jack Grealish, while he also committed five fouls due to his poor defensive positioning. You can find some of the best fan reactions down below…
