Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to a report that claims a potential summer move for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard has hit a snag.
Claret and Blue boss Dean Smith will use the summer months to strengthen his side and potentially add a new frontman after seeing the likes of Wesley, Mbwana Samatta and Keinan Davis all struggle to find regular goal-scoring form.
Having previously been linked with a move for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos, reports have since emerged linking Celtic’s Edouard.
Daily Telegraph writer Mike McGrath was among the first to report that Villa would like to make a summer move for the £13.5m-valued striker who netted an impressive 21 goals in 27 games and gained 12 assists in the Scottish Premiership last term.
However, that report has now been followed up by a claim from the Scottish Sun that says the striker would reject a move to Villa Park this summer and hold out for a ‘better’ offer.
Reacting to the transfer report via Twitter account Aston Villa News, fans discussed the striker and one – perhaps in jest – said “where is Suso when you need him?” Of course, the ex-Sporting Director left Villa Park earlier in the summer after some questionable transfer decisions last term. Had he not, he would have been the man negotiating with Edouard.
