Loads of Aston Villa fans have been reacting to The Telegraph‘s update on the club’s pursuit of Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.
According to journalist Matt Law, Inter Milan are the outfit leading the race for Giroud with the Frenchman believed to prefer a reunion with Antonio Conte over a relegation battle with Villa.

The two, of course, worked with each other when Conte was still in the Stamford Bridge dugout and enjoyed FA Cup success. The 33-year-old bagged two goals for his Italian boss in the competition as the Blues went on to win the 2018 edition after defeating Manchester United 1-0 in the final.
With Villa’s hopes of signing Giroud slowly dying, fans have been suggesting some alternatives on Twitter.
The likes of former striker Christian Benteke and Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic have been mentioned by some, while others have reluctantly come to accept the idea of Glenn Murray.
Like Giroud, the Brighton centre-forward has also recently been linked with a move to Villa Park.
