Aston Villa reporter Ashley Preece provided multiple updates ahead of this evening’s clash with Norwich City on Twitter.
And, as to be expected, a number of Villa fans were quick to flock to the news as a result.
Steven Gerrard takes his side to Carrow Road to take on former Villa boss Dean Smith, however, he’ll be without a number of first-team players.

Midfielder Marvelous Nakamba, who has started every game under Gerrard, is sidelined after picking up a knee injury in Saturday’s defeat to Liverpool and is set to see a specialist today.
Perhaps even more worryingly, Gerrard also confirmed that two Villa players have now tested positive for Covid-19 and will therefore miss the meeting with the Canaries. He didn’t name who they were, but it seems as if Villa may have three fresh absentees from the weekend.

Villa fans react
Preece shared the news from Gerrard’s press conference on Monday afternoon, explaining that the absences are a ‘massive blow‘. This is what these Villa fans had to say in reply.
“NOOOOOOOO”
“Rough morning for #AVFC. Nakamba out with a knee injury and a reported second positive COVID case among the first-team.”
“Nooooooooooooo!”
“Please not Martinez”
“We are jinxed”
“Have to wonder a bit about the timing of Chrisene being promoted with unnamed Covid cases. Naka is a huge blow. Has stood out as spectacular.”
