Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash could make his international debut for Poland in November, according to Sky Sports.
And a number of Villa fans have been sharing their thoughts on the update on social media.
Reports emerged over the weekend that Poland were ready to approach Cash over a possible switch of nationalities.
The 24-year-old qualifies to play for Poland through family on his mother’s side, and Fabrizio Romano posted on Twitter on Tuesday that the process to receive a Polish passport should be completed soon.
Sky Sports now suggest that Cash wants to break into Poland’s side ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and is hopeful of featuring against Andorra on November 12 and Hungary on November 15.
Thoughts on Cash's choice?
Should've stayed and fought for England!
Right to represent Poland!
Villa fans react
Sky Sports shared the claim on their Premier League Twitter page on Tuesday afternoon. This is what some Villa supporters had to say in reply, with one labelling it as ‘excellent news’.
“Absolutely magical”
“Love to see it”
“Excellent news.”
“He’s already the best polish right back ever”
“Thought Ireland might get him”
“big up”
