Aston Villa fans have selected current Cardiff City loanee Albert Adomah as one of the club’s ‘under-appreciated’ players from their time in the Championship.
With football at a standstill at present due to the worldwide pandemic, football fans have been engaging with each other via social media, looking back over historic moments, taking part in skill challenges and much more.
Villa, who gained promotion to the Premier League last summer from the Championship, have very much changed their squad from the one that helped them return to England’s top flight.
And fans have been debating the players that were underrated and under-appreciated during the run back to the Premier League.
Voting via Twitter account Total Villa, Adomah’s name was the one heard the most, whilst former players like Glenn Whelan and Axel Tuanzebe were also mentioned.
Adomah left Villa last summer after spending three seasons at Villa Park, securing a move back to the Championship with Nottingham Forest.
The Ghana international played an important part for Dean Smith’s side last term, appearing 42 times in which he netted four goals. In total prior to his exit, Adomah managed to score 22 goals in 125 games for the Midlands based club (Transfermarkt).
