After the news that Tom Heaton will miss the rest of the season through injury, it appears some of the Aston Villa faithful have had their concerns eased after seeing the most recent performance by Orjan Nyland.
Whilst the Villans were dumped out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 defeat to Championship outfit Fulham, it would seem the Norwegian shot-stopper came in for some praise on social media.
Many of the club’s faithful noted that the ‘keeper was not to blame for the goals that had been conceded on Saturday afternoon and that the scoreline could have been even worse for them if he had not pulled off some great saves – having made a total of three in the game (via WhoScored).
One fan even suggested that Nyland could surprise a lot of the fans at Villa Park with his performances this season, should he be the man Dean Smith turns to following Heaton’s horrible and untimely setback.

Don’t really understand the negativity.

Well that definitely proved that #avfc need serious reinforcements in key areas. Average at best, beaten by two worldies, although horrific defending by Taylor for first. Nyland looks much improved though.
