Marvelous Nakamba was voted Man of the Match on his debut in a poll on Aston Villa’s official Twitter page as the Villans drew 0-0 with West Ham United.
The other three nominees for the accolade were Bjorn Engels, Tyrone Mings and John McGinn:

However, there was one glaring omission from the poll that lots of Villa fans ended up spotting: Frederic Guilbert.
The Frenchman may not have been included in the conversation by his club, but he was given Man of the Match by WhoScored with a rating of 7.8.
He was brilliant defensively, making 4 tackles, 3 clearances, 5 interceptions, making the most in the latter category of any player on the pitch, as well as winning all 3 of his aerial duels.
In addition, he made 1 key pass and completed 77% of the passes that he attempted during the game.
