Aston Villa: Fans hammer Bertrand Traore - Aston Villa News

Aston Villa fans were far from happy with the performance of Bertrand Traore during their 0-0 draw with Brighton on Saturday night.

It was a tough evening for the Villans at the AMEX Stadium – the Seagulls managed 26 shots to their four, while the hosts amassed 58% possession. Emilianio Martinez, with a SofaScore rating of 9.4, was easily the man of the match as he kept Dean Smith’s side in the game on a number of occasions.

How many goals have Aston Villa averaged per game?

Traore struggled in particular. He won just one of his six duels and completed a poor 75% of his passes. After this display, Smith will likely be deliberating whether he deserves to start the next game, against Leicester City on Sunday.

Was Traore the worst player on the pitch vs Brighton?

These Villa fans were angry with his showing, and they took to social media platform Twitter to share their thoughts on the £11.7m-valued 25-year-old (Transfermarkt).

Let’s see what the fans had to say about Traore below

“I am very disappointed with Barkley AGAIN!! and Traore!!! Absolutely disgusting performances. I love my club and to watch them play like that is not acceptable. If I was lucky enough to pull on the claret and blue jersey, I would give everything I could to win!!”

“Why is Traore still on the pitch? Busing me this, he has been utter tripe tonight”

“Just in the interests of fairness, Traore has also been absolutely appalling tonight too.”

“Barkley does not deserve a start firstly. IMO Luis has been average (at best) for weeks. When Traore is bad, he absolutely stinks. Too many with a lack of the basic effort required tonight. Changes in the starting line up required. Earn your place.”

“Yeah absolutely. Not so much Watkins, difficult if you get no service at all. Jack has to get smarter, teams will see how to play him. Traore useless when we’re on the back foot. Nobody is convincing me Barkley on recent performances deserves a start because he’s Ross Barkley!”

“You have to wonder. Utter rubbish. Grealish, Barkley, Traore, McGinn looked like they were on Blackpool beach. Leaving Watkins totally out of it.”
