A number of Aston Villa fans have been giving their thoughts on social media to Dean Smith’s comments on Jack Grealish.

The 25-year-old has missed the club’s last nine Premier League fixtures with a shin injury and will be missing from Villa’s squad against West Brom on Sunday evening.

Smith admitted that the attacking midfielder is due to go for a scan on the issue next week but has no doubt the club captain will be available for England selection at this summer’s European Championship.

The 25-year-old appeared to have a major chance of landing a spot in Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad for the tournament prior to his injury, with Grealish receiving his first call up back in August.

Talking to the media about the Villa captain, as reported by the Daily Mail, Smith said:

“There's not really a timeline as such. He's due to have a scan next week & hopefully that clears it up & he can go on with training. But we’re guided by the doctors. I have no doubt he'll be okay for the Euros.”
