Aston Villa have struck a deal with the Zimbabwean Football Association which will see midfielder Marvelous Nakamba remain at Villa Park over the festive period.

And, as to be expected, a number of Villa fans have been reacting to the update on social media.

Nakamba has been a regular under Steven Gerrard, starting all four games under the new manager. The 27-year-old was due to join up with his country two days before Christmas ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, however, Villa will now keep hold of him until the New Year.

That means Gerrard will have the defensive midfielder available for games against Chelsea, Leeds United and Brentford, with Nakamba’s first game for his country against Senegal on January 10.

Villa fans react
