Aston Villa confirmed on Friday morning that they have agreed terms with Barcelona regarding a loan deal for Philippe Coutinho.

And, as to be expected, the official update has resulted in a number of Villa supporters going wild on social media.

Villa were thought to be one of six Premier League sides in the race for the Barcelona playmaker this month. Coutinho wanted to return to the Premier League and to play regular football for an ambitious club, and Villa Park is where he will do just that.

Rumours have been gathering for days now, but Villa finally revealed that the 29-year-old will move to the Midlands for the second half of the season subject to completing a medical and receiving a work permit.

Villa also have the option to make the move permanent in the summer, however, no fee was mentioned.
