Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern will be fairly content with mid-table this season now after what’s been a pretty hectic season in the Championship.
Stints of both poor and good form this year have ensured that the Villa faithful have really been put through the mill this season and so the end of it can’t really come soon enough.
Indeed, there is a genuine feeling that the club will get things back on track for next year with Steve Bruce in charge but for now they’ll just have to muddle on.
It looks as though, too, they’ll have to do that without young Rushian Hepburn-Murphy getting near the side with him set to be out for a while with injury – as per The Birmingham Mail.
Indeed, the report quoted Steve Bruce from his pre-match press conference today with the former Hull boss saying:
“Rushian has seen a specialist in London this week, we’re waiting on a report on that. He’s not fit for the foreseeable future.”
It remains to be seen just how long the youngster is out for, then, but our landlord reckons that it’s going to be a while given that he’s seen a specialist.
