Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern are cautiously optimistic about their season finishing strongly as they prepare to head to Wigan tomorrow.
Indeed, it’s been a rather topsy turvy season for the Villans with them worrying about relegation under Roberto Di Matteo and also having the hopes of a late play-off surge.
Now, though, it looks like they’ll be bang in mid-table for this season and many Villa punters here in the Transfer Tavern are more than content with that.
Time, then, for the foundations to be laid for a more successful season next year – with the aim surely the play-offs at the very least and that starts with a potential momentum builder against Wigan this weekend.
And, ahead of that game, Steve Bruce has offered promising news about Henri Lansbury and Scott Hogan – via the club’s official Twitter account:
Press Conference: Steve Bruce – “Lansbury may train today. Hogan trained last two days. Baker won’t make it. Too soon for Green.” pic.twitter.com/2ULgFtp7cy

Decent news, then, and our Villa fans are waiting to see if either starts this weekend.
