Aston fans in The Transfer Tavern are reacting to news that they could be set to sign a striker from Swansea City.
The Birmingham Mail is reporting that Aston Villa are interested in signing Michu should he as expected be released from his contract at The Liberty Stadium.
The 29-year-old began life in Wales well, but in recent times he has found life hard at the Welsh club.
Shipped out on loan last season, Michu has again not featured for Swansea this, and after being told he is not part of manager Garry Monk’s plans is looking to reach an agreement with the club over the cancellation of his contract.
The sporting director at Aston Villa Hendrik Almstadt is reportedly a keen admirer of the Spaniard, and with Tim Sherwood gone, and Remi Garde just taking, the club are looking towards the free market until January, and Michu could be the player they go for.
