Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait for their side to get going this season as they are hoping for a battle for promotion to the Premier League.
Indeed, it’s been a while since fans of the club have been able to look forward to something at the start of the campaign and so this feeling is rather refreshing.
For sure, Steve Bruce is the man who will need to help convert that positivity into results but, ultimately, it’s the players who will need to step up and so it remains to be seen what happens in that regard.
In the meantime, though, James Bree has taken to Twitter to talk about the first pre-season game that they’ve played and certainly seems in determined spirits:
