Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that this weekend sees a turn in their fortune after a poor start to the campaign.
The men from Villa Park have had a bad start to proceedings this year, for sure, and now they need to get themselves going against Norwich with only a win acceptable.
If they can get it, they’ll be thinking that there’s still plenty of time to get back to the top of the league but another loss – and the negative impact on morale that will bring – could see them struggling to get near that already.
A big game against Norwich awaits, then, but the next two weeks are going to be important altogether with the transfer window shutting in that time.
For sure, Villa are likely going to want to bring in someone else at least to boost their squad and it seems as though Steve Bruce wants Sam Gallagher – a man who is also a Wolves target – as per Tim Spiers on Twitter:

We could, then, see a battle for the young striker’s signature but, in the meantime, focus needs to be on the club’s game this weekend against the Canaries.
Landlord’s Verdict
Gallagher is a decent young forward and would score goals at Championship level – as he did with Blackburn last season.
Indeed, with Villa having injury problems up top there is still scope for a new forward to come in and so it seems that a battle with Wolves for the Southampton man could be on the cards.
