Aston Villa are €5m off meeting Bayer Leverkusen’s valuation for Leon Bailey, according to Bild.

And, as to be expected, a number of Villa supporters have been sharing their thoughts to the update on social media.

Bild suggest that Villa’s first offer for the Jamaican was worth €30m, with Leverkusen holding out for €35m.

Leverkusen’s valuation converts to just shy of £29.8m, which, should a deal go through at that price, would make Bailey Villa’s third-most expensive signing of all time behind Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Buendia.

Bailey is reportedly open to a Premier League switch, with Bild name-checking Leicester City and Wolves with an interest in the 23-year-old, alongside Villa.

The Daily Mail were the first to link Bailey with a move to Villa Park last week, and it seems as if Villa have stepped up their interest.

Villa fans react

@villareport shared Bild’s claim regarding Bailey on Twitter on Tuesday evening.

These Villa fans were quick to reply, with some sharing their excitement and others urging the club to pay the difference.
