Aston Villa: Fans react as Mbwana Samatta set to join Fenerbahce

Turkish side Fenerbahce are expected to announce the signing of Mbwana Samatta from Aston Villa, according to reports.
With the new season underway which began with Dean Smith’s side picking up a 1-0 win over Sheffield United, Villa will be hoping that they can have a season better than last which saw them wait until the final day to secure their top-flight status.
Smith saw the likes of Keinan Davis, Wesley and Samatta all struggle for consistent form last term, prompting the former Brentford boss to raid his former club and bring in Ollie Watkins.
Watkins started the game against Chris Wilder’s Blades but failed to find the back of the net, although his 26 goals in the Championship suggest that he could find the back of the net on a consistent basis for the Midlands club this season.
Watkins’ arrival has now prompted Samatta to be linked elsewhere, despite arriving in January for £9.45m. Linked with a move to Fenerbahce, the Tanzanian forward now looks set to be announced by the Turkish giants imminently.
Reacting to a report which was shared by Twitter account @villareport, these fans of the Claret and Blue gave their opinion on the striker’s pending exit.
thanks for your two goals sunshine, now atleast the Tanzanians will calm down a little bit

We need another striker in, there is no way we can go with just Davis as a back up. Not a goal scorer. We will be in the same position as last season if we don’t sign one more.

What a shame. 100% should have kept him. Genuine player who would have improved game by game.

I honestly feel we give up on players to quickly look how many have gone from here then do well I can think of quite a few just saying he never really had that much time to adjust to Premier
