The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern love nothing more than a major signing. From Paul Pogba to Romelu Lukaku to Alexis Sanchez, the Red Devils have arguably had more major names move to the club than any of their rivals over the last few years.
So far this year, their activity has been much more muted, but over the course of the summer, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see another big name or two move to the club.
We recently made the case that Chelsea’s Eden Hazard would be a brilliant option. Noting Mourinho’s presence, and Chelsea’s lack of Champions League football next season, it’s a move that though audacious, isn’t completely outside of the realms of possibility.
Regardless of its likelihood, though, it’s a deal that Man Utd fans would love to see.
We recently polled supporters on whether Man Utd should attempt to land him, and a whopping 86% of them responded with a resounding yes.
Of course, Chelsea won’t want him to leave, and whilst his market value is, according to Transfer Markt, around the £99 million mark – the Blues would likely demand even more.
Nonetheless, a signing of his calibre would much huge, and it could be the sort of deal to define a generation at Old Trafford – he’s truly that good. Whether it happens or not remains to be seen, but fans would clearly love to see it.
