‘Baller’, ‘Kid is incredible’ - Man United fans on Twitter praise academy starlet after recent performance

The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s latest wonderkid after the Manchester United U19s beat Toronto U19s 1-0 in the Dallas Cup. The young striker, Mason Greenwood made it 17 goals in 19 games for the season as he helped his side to overcome their Canadian opponents despite only having ten men.

Manchester United are a club that has a rich history of developing youth, despite spending more and more money on players over the last few years. The Old Trafford club’s academy system has discovered some incredible talents over the years and it looks like they’ve found their star in young Mason Greenwood. At the age of just 16, Greenwood has been a key feature for Manchester United’s U18 and U19 sides this campaign and averages a goal every 65 minutes in the U18 Premier League.

The striker, who incredibly, was born in 2001 looks set to go on and achieve big things at the club if his record at youth level is anything to go by. For now, the youngster will be focussing on Manchester United’s last group game in the Dallas Cup against Higashi Fukuoka as they aim to top their group and go on to the semi-finals of the youth tournament.
