Sunderland’s relegation from the Premier League was finally confirmed today after they lost 1-0 at home to Bournemouth and their supporters here in the Tavern aren’t happy in the slightest with the result!
A late Josh King goal for the Cherries confirmed what many had predicted for months now and David Moyes’ team were finally condemned to the second-tier after a horrendous season at the Stadium of Light.
Our Sunderland-mad barman was seriously upset when the final whistle was blown, especially considering the way his side bowed out of the Premier League with such a whimper after a poor season all-round.
And with Championship football now confirmed for next season, how did fed up Black Cats supporters react to the news after the game? Well, you can probably guess that not many were happy in the slightest!
So with that in mind, here’s the best of the fallout from Twitter after Sunderland’s relegation to the second tier was finally confirmed…

So long Moyesy and so long Sunderland. ☹️Sad for the fans but unfortunately not undeserving for the team. #SunderlandRelegated

Sunderland relegated. Hapless team with a hapless manager who should have been sacked after what he said to reporter Vicki Sparks.
