Sheffield United will be feel disappointed not to have secured all three points against Rotherham United yesterday, as a stoppage time goal pegged the Blades back.
Chris Wilder has done a terrific job at Bramall Lane over the past couple of years, but he just hasn’t been able to make the final step to secure the Blades a play-off or promotion place in the Championship.
However, it appears as if the club will wave goodbye to one of it’s loan players in January, as according to the Daily Mail, Ben Woodburn’s loan deal at Sheffield United looks like it will be cut short.
Interestingly, Ben Woodburn is expected to feature in Sunday’s mini-derby between Liverpool and Everton, despite being on loan to Sheffield United.
The Premier League club have chosen to recall the Wales international for the Premier League 2 fixture at Goodison Park, due to the forward’s lack of playing time at Bramall Lane.
And, it now looks likely the youngster’s disappointing spell in the Championship will be cut short in January, despite him originally joining on a season-long loan.
THE VERDICT:

Liverpool can have Ben Woodburn back.
The teenager hasn’t been able to influence Sheffield United’s promotion push due to a lack of minutes in the side, so they won’t be too bothered to see him go in January.
Indeed, the Blades are currently in a play-off place after 18 Championship fixtures, but things could all go wrong from here on in as they suffered a dip in form in the last campaign.
