The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see their former player and ex-German international, Michael Ballack, as he takes to the pitch on Friday for Chelsea Legends against Inter Forever. The fixture, that is now being played in memory of the late Ray Wilkins, takes place at Stamford Bridge and fans can buy tickets on the Chelsea Website.
We signed Michael @Ballack on this day in 2006!
12 years on, you can watch him back in Blue as the #LegendsReturn to Stamford Bridge on Friday!

The Blues propping our bar have been looking forward to the game for a number of weeks now and with the club tweeting today that it’s been a whole 12 years since Ballack joined the club it’s had them thinking about their current recent business. In the last few transfer windows, the Blues have seen the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater join the club for fees of more than £30 million, leading fans to reminisce over the good old days when they were snapping up a three-time German player of the year for free.
Friday’s friendly match is sure to be a great occasion for all involved. Both sides have brought in star-studded lineups, with Dennis Wise, Gianfranco Zola and Gianluca Vialli all featuring alongside Ballack for the Blues, whilst Inter will be fielding Javier Zanetti, Youri Djorkaeff and Francesco Toldo. The fixture will be one for Chelsea fans to enjoy after they watched their side miss out on Champions League football at the hands of Tottenham and will provide entertaining viewing without any tension before Antonio Conte’s side face Manchester United in the FA Cup the following day.
