The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the bizarre rumours that have linked them with Championship star, Jack Grealish. According to Neil Ashton in The Sun, the 22-year-old is being lined up as one for the long-term future at Old Trafford and has been singled out for his driving runs through midfield.

Jose Mourinho’s United look to be the favourites to sign Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred, and now they could be set to make Aston Villa’s young starlet their second signing of this summer. The Englishman has talent, and no one’s doubting that, but whether he can cut it for one of England’s biggest sides is a different question. United already have the likes of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard as their flair options in midfield and it would be hard to see Grealish cracking the first team.
However, if the reports are true and the Red Devils are eyeing Grealish as a long-term option, it’s not the craziest transfer news we’ve seen. Jack Grealish it up the Championship play-off final on Saturday and despite finding himself on the losing side as Villa fell 1-0 to Fulham, the tricky midfielder came up with everything that was good for the Villains, despite spurning a couple of half chances. If the youngster stays in Birmingham, he’ll be integral to their promotion push next season, although it remains to see how this one will pan out.

If United are planning long term, Ruben Neves is the one midfielder they should break their bank for.
