Earning promotion back to the Premier League will be expected of the former Chile boss, and reports suggest he will be handed a £20m transfer war chest to strengthen his squad. Owner Andrea Radrizzani is desperate to see the club back in the big time and is willing to give his new manager Leeds’ biggest ever transfer kitty. Bielsa’s arrival will also allow the Whites to attract high calibre players.
Therefore, Leeds should make an audacious attempt to sign Atletico Madrid striker – Fernando Torres. Valued at £3.6m by Transfermarkt, Bielsa is a huge admirer of the Spaniard and tried to sign him during his spell as Lille manager. Torres announced he would be leaving his boyhood club at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old has plenty of experience in England following two spells with Liverpool and Chelsea where he netted 126 goals. He has lifted the Premier League, Champions League and World Cup during his illustrious career and would be considered a real coup for the Championship side.
