Our West Ham fans are starting to feel cautiously optimistic this season all of a sudden here in the Transfer Tavern thanks to their recent results.
The Hammers have had a dire year up until now, of course, but things seem to be swinging their way now with two 1-0 wins on the trot at home to Burnley and Hull respectively.
The cynics here in the Transfer Tavern are saying that they were lucky because both goals came via penalties but at the end of the day you need some luck to get out of trouble and the Hammers have been due some.
Indeed, they could now do with some luck in the transfer market in January to help them pull away from the drop and our landlord reckons signing at least one of these three £20 million+ players (according to transfermarkt) would do the trick…
Carlos Bacca £21.25m

West Ham desperately need forward options because at the moment the ones they have aren’t enough.
Andy Carroll could pull up any minute whilst Simone Zaza is not going to be the answer so it’s time the Hammers break the bank. Goals will see them safe this season and so spending this kind of money on Carlos Bacca would prove to be worth every single last penny.
Lorenzo Insigne £21.25m

Another thing the Hammers could do with going forward is pace and Insigne would definitely provide that.
Whilst Dimitri Payet and Michail Antonio can carry the ball well they are not lightning fast and so the Napoli forward would be ideal. The Hammers need to add a few different dimensions to their attack if they are to climb the table in the second half of the season and Insigne would definitely offer them as such.
Javier Hernandez £21.25m

Hernandez is a proper poacher and would surely benefit off the chances the Hammers create.
Flair and creativity is not the east London side’s problem this year – it’s been the last bit of actually getting the ball in the net. Signing the Mexican would absolutely solve that whilst another benefit of this potential signing is that he’s seen it all before in the Premier League and would not take long to adapt – crucial for a January transfer.
