Tottenham have never been shy in doing last-minute deals and with three days left in the transfer window, Harry Redknapp is ready to rival Arsenal for the signature of Sao Paulo starlet Bruno Uvini.
According to the Daily Mail, Spurs are in talks with the Brazil under-20 captain over a possible loan deal, with a view to a permanent transfer.
Uvini is one of Brazil’s brightest prospects and the centre-back has attracted interest from all over Europe following his performances in the recent Under-20 World Championship.
It is thought that Arsenal were looking at Uvini in the summer, while Genoa have offered £3million to bring the Brazilian to Italy.
Tottenham are clearly looking to the future, and with Ledley King’s contract up at the end of the season, Redknapp may be lining up his replacement.
As the Daily Mail article suggests, Uvini’s lack of first-team games may hinder his chances of gaining a work permit.
