According to The Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa are keen on signing both Carl Jenkinson and Sam Johnstone with our Villans in the Transfer Tavern more than happy about that.
The men from the Midlands have endured a great deal of negativity in recent years but they look as though they are going to bounce back in the near future if they continue the way they are under Steve Bruce.
The former Hull City man knows exactly how to get teams out of the Championship and that is exactly what he is trying to do with Villa, with him apparently targeting the Premier League pair.
Neither Jenkinson nor Johnstone are regulars for Arsenal and Manchester United respectively and so could themselves be keen on moving to Villa Park.
Jenkinson has seen himself behind Hector Bellerin for the Gunners whilst Johnstone is behind Sergio Romero and David De Gea at United in the goalkeeping stakes.
Both will be hungry for minutes, then, and our landlord reckons signing the pair would certainly help out Villa’s promotion push.
