Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait for their side to get going this weekend as they return to Championship action.
After a draw with Hull City over the opening weekend and then a win in the Carabao Cup, the plan is now to chalk up three points against Cardiff tomorrow.
For sure, it’ll be a stern test in the Welsh capital and our local Villa punters think it’ll be a close game – as it so often is in the Championship.
Typically today, then, Steve Bruce has previewed the game at his press-conference and during that he offered up the latest on the fitness of Jonathan Kodjia, Jack Grealish and Mile Jedinak – as per the club’s official Twitter account:

News, then, that Villa fans will be chewing over for some time, at least until kick-off tomorrow when all attention will be getting three points to really kick-start their season.
Landlord’s Verdict
Villa are looking in good shape and a win this weekend will be expected from their fans.
If they can’t get the three points, though, a draw is a minimum as starting this campaign with a stuttering start could prove costly in this most competitive of divisions.
