Manchester United will have their eyes set firmly on securing the Premier League title and enjoying success in Europe. Although, pre-season has been all about United’s youngsters, as they continue to impress in the International Champions Cup.
Jose Mourinho has struggled to give youth a chance in competitive matches over the past couple of seasons, with supporters urging the Portuguese boss to have more faith in the youth system.
Although, the club’s youngsters have been given a number of chances during pre-season so far as they’re currently out in the United States for the International Champions Cup.
Indeed, having seen Scott McTominay’s breakthrough into the first-team, a number of the club’s hottest prospects will be looking to follow in the footsteps in the near future.
Without further ado, here’s TWO amazing Man United youngsters that you’ll know all about by the end of the season…
Angel Gomes is arguably the brightest prospect since Marcus Rashford, operating anywhere across the attacking midfield three.
The youngster was invited to take part in United’s pre-season tour of the United States, so perhaps the 17-year-old will enjoy his breakthrough at some point in the new campaign.
His vision, dribbling and creativity all resemble some of the best creative players in the game, and the young man could well be used as a direct replacement for Juan Mata as he comes towards the end of his career.
Nishan Burkat offers an abundance of pace and has scored goals for fun in the development squads, which could mean that he may be ready to make a Marcus Rashford-esque entrance into the first-team squad.
Manchester United are lacking options at the pinnacle of the attack with Romelu Lukaku being the lone striker, so perhaps Mourinho will look to include the Swiss youngster in his plans.
