Celtic winger Mikey Johnston is set to be unavailable for tonight's Scottish Cup clash against Dundee United, according to 90min.

The Lowdown: Johnston’s B team return

The attacker, who Joe Hart labelled ‘cheeky’ earlier this year, has once again endured an injury-hit campaign.

The 22-year-old has missed large parts of the season through injury, with his latest ankle issue coming against Raith Rovers last month.

However, the winger did make a return for the club’s B team in midweek, scoring twice in 73 minutes during a 5-0 Glasgow Cup win over Patrick Thistle.

The Latest: 90min’s claim on Johnston

90min reporter Craig Vickers shared a preview of the quarter-final tie over the weekend, sharing team news for both teams.

When it came to Celtic, he claimed that Johnston would still be unavailable, along with David Turnbull and Kyogo Furuhashi.

The Verdict: Fingers crossed

Hopefully Johnston hasn’t suffered another setback and Ange Postecoglou is simply looking to ease the player back in slowly following his recent absence.

With the 22-year-old set to be unavailable, you’d expect that the Hoops boss will once again rely on the likes of Liel Abada, Jota and James Forrest out wide, with Daizen Maeda and Giorgos Giakoumakis as options in a central attacking role.

A domestic treble is still on for Postecoglou in his first season in charge at Parkhead, and fingers crossed Johnston can play a part between now and the end of the campaign.
