Leeds United look to finally be getting somewhere in the transfer market, and this weekend announced the signing of Wolves man Barry Douglas, while they also look set to land Middlesbrough star Patrick Bamford.
It has been a frustrating summer for new Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa, but with things looking up, fans at Elland Road might well expect to see even more talent arrive in the coming days.
Indeed, we at the Tavern think Leeds can continue to add quality, and one player who has been mentioned by us this week is Man City star and Celtic loanee Patrick Roberts, who built a solid reputation for himself in Scotland but is now back in Manchester waiting to find out his next move.
The impressive young attacking midfielder was a key member of the Celtic squad once again last term, showing signs of real quality and looking every bit like being able to turn himself into a regular Premier League player in the long run.
However, with City having such a depth of talent, a move into the Championship might be a beneficial one, and clubs in the second tier don’t come much bigger than Leeds.
Quick, good with the ball, and with an eye for goal, Roberts would be a superb signing for the Whites, and the thought of a potential link up with Bamford is something which could seriously excited Elland Road.
Leeds fans, what do you think? Would you take Roberts? Good signing? Let us know!
