Metro have made Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern even more excited – if that is even possible – after the publication claim that the Blues have entered into talks with the father of one of their top targets.
The player in question is none other than Lionel Messi who has sent his dad to meet with Jose Mourinho and speak about a potential move away from Barcelona where the forward has grown increasingly unhappy in recent months, making no secret of that fact.
As one of our regulars notes, given Messi is now following Chelsea (and Manchester City) on Instagram and his girlfriend has taken to following Chelsea on Twitter, we think they are either taking their friendship with Cesc Fabregas very seriously or the groundwork is being laid for a potential move.
Barcelona have reportedly told Messi that manager Luis Enrique – who he has reported issues with – will only last the 2014/15 season and not a game longer.
That said, we have all read Messi rumours in the past, only for the Argentine superstar to reveal his devotion to the Catalan giants days later so take this one with a pinch of salt!
