Chelsea sent clear transfer message over chances of signing “elite” 16-goal striker this summer

Chelsea’s attacking evolution under Liam Rosenior has been one of the bright spots of their campaign.

Joao Pedro, in particular, has brought energy and creativity to the frontline. Although not always deployed as an out-and-out striker — occasionally dropping deeper in the absence of Cole Palmer — he has delivered 14 goals in all competitions along with eight assists. His intelligent link-up play has been vital, and his influence has only grown since Rosenior’s arrival.

However, Pedro remains the club’s only consistently reliable top-level forward, with Liam Delap struggling to make a sustained impact.

As a result, speculation continues over whether Chelsea will dip back into the market for another high-calibre striker this summer.

Chelsea Sent Victor Osimhen Message

Chelsea have long admired Victor Osimhen and previously came close to securing his signature. The striker, once labelled “elite” by Pep Guardiola, remains on the club’s radar.

Now at Galatasaray following a permanent move from Napoli last summer, Osimhen has continued to enhance his reputation. The Nigerian international has scored 16 goals this season, including a crucial strike as Galatasaray eliminated Juventus from the Champions League.

Despite renewed interest from across Europe, Galatasaray vice-president Abdullah Kavukcu has made the club’s stance crystal clear.

Reflecting on the €75 million spent to sign him, Kavukcu said: “When we purchased him, many spoke of it as a crazy investment. I think Victor has proven everyone wrong, considering that his value has doubled. We know he is one of the best centre-forwards in the world and we want to achieve great goals together.”

The message is clear: any club hoping to prise Osimhen away will face a substantial financial hurdle.

Chelsea may be keen to add another proven goalscorer to support Joao Pedro, but Galatasaray’s firm position suggests a deal for Osimhen would require a major outlay. While the Blues retain admiration for the prolific forward, securing his signature this summer looks likely to depend on their willingness to meet a soaring valuation.
