You won’t find happier punters here in the Transfer Tavern right now than the Chelsea lot and they’re certainly enjoying The Guardian’s latest news.
That is because the report is suggesting that the Blues are looking at signing Monaco pair Tiemoue Bakayoko and Djibril Sidibe as they continue to look for ways to strengthen their hold on the league.
The club have reportedly scouted the pair in recent times and with Monaco well in the race for the Ligue 1 title as well as impressing in the Champions League, the two have obviously had good seasons so far.
Sidibe is a right back but he can play down the left too, though he would likely be employed as a wing back in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 system.
Bakayoko, meanwhile, is a powerful midfielder and could be seen as the replacement for Nemanja Matic in the Blues’ engine room.
Our landlord thinks both would be good signings for the club with their Champions League experiences from this season and reckons, with the Blues aiming to return to the competition next year, they’d fit in seamlessly.
Would you take both, Blues fans? Or maybe just one? Let us know below!
