Chelsea sit in third in the Premier League, above champions Manchester City as the latest international break gets underway. Willian has been key to their run of six wins on the bounce in the league, and at 31 years old he’s providing experience at the top end of Frank Lampard’s side.
He’s made eight starts in the league this season, scoring two goals and assisting three. Each of his Premier League goals and assists this season have come during this recent run of form and WhoScored have rated him over 8/10 on three occasions in that time too. He’s got the joint-most assists this season along with Callum Hudson-Odoi, and is WhoScored’s third top-rated Chelsea player, on an average of 7.29/10 in the Premier League.
Mundo Deportivo has reported his form has even attracted the interest of Barcelona, with them wanting to sign him in the summer. However, when Chelsea fan account The Blues posted the story on their Twitter account, most fans seemed more than happy to see him go. Some were already contemplating who they’d want in a swap deal.
