Chelsea will be looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit when they take on Tottenham tomorrow night at Stamford Bridge in their Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg clash.
The Blues, however, will have to try and do it without Gonzalo Higuain with Maurizio Sarri confirming in his pre-match press conference (via Chelsea’s official Twitter account) that the Argentine had not been signed before the midday deadline.
With Chelsea struggling for goals right now, they could have desperately done with Higuain in their mission to reach the final of the League Cup, though the team can remain optimistic heading into the game with Tottenham currently having problems of their own.
The north London club will be without Harry Kane and Dele Alli, who are both injured, while Son Heung-min is also unavailable due to his participation at the Asian Cup.
You can still, though, have a look at what Chelsea supporters are saying about Higuain not being available for selection tomorrow below…
Marina got Higuaín on the earliest flight this morning (when he could’ve flown out last night) only to bottle the paperwork in time. Absolute shambles. Who’s gonna score tomorrow? Literally only Pedro can.
