Chelsea have started the season well, sitting fourth in the Premier League with 23 points from their opening 11 games.
Their transfer ban has enforced the club to place its faith in youth, with club legend Frank Lampard helping to integrate some of the club’s academy graduates into the first team.
Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham have all made the step up from Championship football and impressed in the Blues’ first team.
A consequence of this policy has been limited game time for some of the squad’s more experienced members.
Olivier Giroud (four Premier League appearances) and Pedro (three league appearances) have found playing opportunities limited this season.
The World Cup-winning pair have been unable to force their way into Lampard’s plans, with Giroud particularly facing an uphill battle to regain his place, with the Frenchman behind Abraham and Michy Batshuayi in the Chelsea pecking order at present.
Both have been linked with moves away from the club as a result, according to The Telegraph.
