There is some utterly pint dropping news coming in from the Daily Star.
The publication seem to be under the impression that Chelsea will be able to land their top transfer target this summer.
As we know, the Blues have been desperate for a star forward and this season, if they actually had a player who could put the ball into the back of the net on a consistent basis, they certainly would be leading the table by more than a couple of points.
In the recent disappointing result against West Bromwich Albion, it was blindingly obvious where the problem lies.
Jose Mourinho’s top target is Diego Costa, who has been setting La Liga alight this season. Now it seems that Atleti boss Diego Simeone is willing to allow Costa to leave for Stamford Bridge – but on one condition.
However, as our landlord notes, that condition is a rather large one. The Spanish side want to keep Blues loanee Thibaut Courtois, who has gone from strength to strength at the Vicente Calderon.
The Belgian stopper has been on loan from Stamford Bridge for the past couple of seasons and has become one of the best keepers in the world. Receiving the former Genk stopper would certainly sweeten the deal for the Madrid-based side.
Should Chelsea give into Atletico’s demands and offer Courtois as part of a deal to land Costa? Let us know your thoughts below.
