Fresh off a successful season that saw them win the UEFA Europa Conference League and secure qualification for the UEFA Champions League, Chelsea are not resting on their laurels.
Determined to continue their upward trajectory, the Blues have already been one of the busiest clubs in the summer transfer window.
Signings such as Liam Delap, João Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Estevão Willian, and Dário Essugo highlight the club’s commitment to blending exciting youth with established talent. These additions have sent a clear signal of intent to both fans and rivals: Chelsea are building something serious — and sustainable.
But now, another marquee signing could be on the horizon — one that might finally solve one of their most persistent issues.
Chelsea Interested in Donnarumma

According to a new report from French newspaper L’Équipe, Chelsea are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Goalkeeper was a clear problem area for the Blues during the 2024/25 season. Robert Sánchez was error-prone, and Filip Jørgensen failed to convince when given the chance. Now, Chelsea are looking to address the issue decisively — and Donnarumma has emerged as their top target.
The Italian shot-stopper enjoyed a historic season with PSG, helping guide the French giants to an unprecedented quadruple, including their first-ever UEFA Champions League title.
He’s long been considered one of the best in the world, and was even described as “extraordinary” by his PSG teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
However, Donnarumma is entering the final year of his contract, and talks over a new deal have reportedly stalled due to a dispute over wages. While the player is said to be happy in Paris, the uncertainty has opened a door — and Chelsea are ready to walk through it.
The club is reportedly prepared to make a move, offering PSG the chance to sell this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next year.
Still, according to L’Équipe, any final decision won’t be made until after the Club World Cup, where Chelsea and PSG are set to meet in Sunday’s final.
That clash could be the turning point. It might be the match that decides whether Donnarumma stays in Paris — or begins a new chapter in West London.
