Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have spent the morning discussing potential signings this summer, as the Blues punters believe numerous changes are required to ensure their side is competitive in the Champions League next season.
With Diego Costa’s future looking increasingly likely to be away from Stamford Bridge, a striker is a top-target for Antonio Conte’s side this summer and the Blues have been heavily linked with the services of Real Madrid outcast Alvaro Morata.
Morata returned to the Spanish capital last summer following two successful years with Juventus but has struggled to secure regular first-team opportunities, which has left the Spaniard eyeing an exit during the summer transfer window.
The race for Morata’s signature is set to be highly competitive, as Spanish outlet AS reports Manchester United and Tottenham are keen to rival Chelsea for the signature of the striker- although Conte’s side currently lead the chase.
Chelsea will also face vast competition from the continent for Morata’s signature, as it’s stated Juventus, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and even clubs in China are eyeing a summer deal.
However, our landlord believes Morata’s move to Chelsea is inevitable and feels the Spaniard will be leading the line for Conte’s side next season.
