Chelsea man could make surprise transfer this summer

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are not looking forward to the day that John Terry leaves the club…

The English veteran has been the one constant at Stamford Bridge in recent years, and whilst managers have come and gone under Roman Abramovich, Terry has firmly remained within the fold.

That has changed somewhat this season, though, with the 36-year-old largely frozen out by Antonio Conte in favour of the likes of David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta, and with his contract expiring at the end of the season – it appears as though Terry’s time in a Blue shirt is coming to an end.

The prospect of the man that the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern call ‘Captain, Leader, Legend’ playing for another side will certainly be a tough pill to swallow, but as long as he continues outside of the Premier League, they’re okay with it – but it appears as though a tough season could follow for the Blues.

According to the Times, John Terry is reportedly OPEN to a move to another Premier League club this summer, despite the fact that he was considered unlikely to ever turn out for another side in England.

After such a storied career in the Premier League for Chelsea, it will certainly be strange to see him potentially turning out against the Blues – but our landlord thinks that it could be the best move for his career.

After all, the experience that he could add to a number of the sides in the Premier League is unrivalled – and with sides like Bournemouth and West Brom looking to solidify their position closer to the top-half of the Premier League table, a move for Terry may make sense.
