Chelsea & Manchester United target going nowhere this January

Inter Milan have ruled out selling Chelsea and Manchester United target Fredy Guarin during the January transfer window, according to The Express.

The 27-year-old Colombian midfielder has been strongly linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge with the Blues understood to be ahead of Manchester United in the chase.

However, while Inter have confirmed that they were in discussions with Jose Mourinho’s side over a possible transfer, they have now decided to keep hold of Guarin at least until the summer.

“Guarin is an Inter player and we are happy to keep him,” Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio said.”Denying the contacts with Chelsea would be denying the evidence. It is a source of pride to talk with them about one of our players, but everything stopped there.”We are happy Guarin could stay with us for a long time. We don’t have the intention to sell him. He’s an important player.”

Guarin also confirmed that his representative has spoken with Mourinho over a move to Stamford Bridge, but insisted that he is happy with life at the San Siro.

“I haven’t spoken to Mourinho. My agent has done that,” he said.

“I hope that Inter are thinking about how much I really want to stay here.

“There is something going on, I can definitely not deny that.

“But now I focus only on Inter and to do well here, we’ll see in the future.”
