Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern were eagerly watching the FA Cup draw yesterday evening and praying that they managed to avoid one of the big boys given they have to face Manchester City only seven days after they play in the fourth round of the competition.
Luckily (or unluckily) for them, they drew Millwall – or Bradford City – out of the hat and it seems that the two sides who share a lion on their crest are certainly looking forward to the match-up with the chance to reignite old rivalries potentially on the cards.
Obviously it is only a light-hearted attempt at squaring up to one another but we think that staunch Lions fan Danny Baker and former Blues star himself Michael Duberry have set the tone perfectly!
With no offence to Bradford City, we think that while the potential London derby draws ever closer, the rivalry will get more and more intense.
